"World renowned epidemiologist John Ioannidis published an
article titled "Infection fatality rate of COVID-19 inferred
from seroprevalence data" in the WHO's academic journal
Bulletin, where he analyzed 61 studies. The analysis found that
the median COVID-19 infection fatality rate for people under 70
years was only 0.05% (and 0.23% when corrected for all ages).
"The study also estimated that over half a billion people have
been infected as of September 2020. If this is true, this would
mean that COVID-19, while more prevalent than the seasonal flu,
actually has a similar fatality rate to the flu after all. As
NIAID director Dr. Fauci told CBS News on Feb. 16, 2020: "a
very severe seasonal flu is 0.2% to 0.4%; regular seasonal flu
is 0.1% or a typical pandemic like 1957 of 1968 is 0.5%-0.9%."
