Remember sending film off to be developed? It was cool when you
FINALLY got the prints in the mail. :-)
I had several dozen rolls stored at Yorkphoto.com from 1999 until 2010; their mail order processing was $1.99/roll, with 99 cent scans suitable for the web or high-res scans for $4.99.
I still insist that the lack of instantaneous feedback with film photography made me a better photographer. I'd spend more time
composing a shot, whereas now I'll take a dozen pictures to get the composition and exposure right.
YES! I remember that! I was doing photo journalism in high school and we
would develop our own film. Still, the cameras were NOT automatic focus
or anything, so you had to set the F-Stop, the speed, etc. and then take
time to develop, then do the prints (that's where I REALLY learned what
it meant to 'crop' something!), so yeah, you want the compisition to
be up there! :-D
... She got her looks from her father. He's a plastic surgeon.
